Why “Lex Republica”?
The name reflects the publication’s central focus.
Lex is Latin for law, while res publica refers to the public affair or commonwealth the origin of the modern word republic.
Together, Lex Republica represents an interest in the relationship between law and the republic: how laws shape institutions, how institutions exercise power, and how history, commerce, and public policy influence the society governed by them.
